Thrown Together 2: Thrown Harder!
Lately, the very kind and talented @gender_goblin and @costlyblood have been streaming their games of Thrown Together on YouTube (as well as some other 2-player games on their channel ) and this has lead me to consider two things:
- I should create more content like this
- I should really explain the game a bit better
When I created Thrown Together, I was aiming for a very self-contained game in the minimum of words, and whereas that is fine for just following the script the game gives you, it comes up short when your fiction takes you to places the text doesn't really deal with. I thought about some of the discussion of the game I'd had with @costlyblood and it helped me clarify my thoughts into a document that would support deeper play.
Simultaneously, I was struck with the idea for a sequel game: not just more playsheets for the existing setup, but a new framework of play, built on a different type of two-handed comedy-drama, the fairytale quest! Hence this new game: Throne Together! (Apologies for the title) So as well as some more detailed guidance & support on playing the game, you get a whole new game as well, where you and and a friend can take on the roles of a pair of comically mismatched characters forced to travel together on a fairytale quest!
