Second Home
I raced to finish Home from Home this week as I wanted to make sure I released a February game (it is the month I come out to check my shadow, after all) which meant that I skipped a chapter on how to actually play the game! I've addressed that in this new edition, with an additional three pages that try and capture how I intend the game to be played and some suggestions for where to take the story. There's also a new location in the catalogue, with the addition of the Stables to spark your imagination.
I really enjoyed the process of making this game: it's a little meatier than most of my other releases on this platform and the whole thing went from initial conception to finished product in less than 2 months (so it might still have issues I'll address in the future.) The actual writing of it included a couple of moments of serendipity, where almost throwaway things I'd added as placeholders actually ended up strongly supporting the type of narrative and gameplay I wanted.
I've already got my notes together for next month's game; in fact, it would have been this month's game if Home from Home hadn't pushed its way into my mind, and it continues the 'Saturday morning cartoon' motif I've been enjoying recently, with a sci-fi action adventure! See you in March!
